Sri Lanka, the Lido way

A small-group coastal journey for women designed around water, movement, and space to properly switch off.

November 2026

South Coast Sri Lanka

Limited to a small group of 8–10 women.

9 days on Sri Lanka’s south coast — ocean swims, slow travel, and beautifully held space for women.

Hosted by Lido Atelier — small, design-led coastal experiences based in Sydney.

WHAT THIS IS

A small-group coastal journey for women, designed around water, movement, and the space to properly switch off.

Over nine days on Sri Lanka’s south coast, we trade the pace of a traditional tour for something slower — time in and around the water, long afternoons, and evenings that unfold without urgency.

  • Limited to 8–10 women

  • Based at a private coastal villa near Galle

  • Days that begin in the water and end around a long table

  • Time to stay longer in one place, rather than move constantly

This is for the woman who values how a place feels, over how much of it she can see.

We don’t try to cover all of Sri Lanka we stay longer in one place and experience it properly.

A GENTLE RHYTHM

Mornings begin in the water, followed by coffee by the coast.

Days unfold slowly — time to rest, wander, or simply be.

There’s a gentle shift inland, into cooler air and quieter landscapes.

Evenings start slowly and end around a long table.

It’s about being in one place long enough to feel it, not just move through it.

WHY SRI LANKA

Sri Lanka offers a rare combination coastline, culture, and landscape within close reach.

But rather than trying to see everything, this trip focuses on a smaller part of the island, experienced more slowly.

It’s about being in one place long enough to feel it not moving through it.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This is for the woman who understands that you don’t need a full escape to feel different. It is for those who are ready to trade the rush of a packed itinerary for a gentle rhythm that unfolds without urgency.

This is for you if:

  • You value how a place feels over how much of it you can see in a day.

  • You seek a journey that is both social and spacious—where connection is welcome, but never forced.

  • You have an eye for understated luxury and a deep appreciation for design-led spaces that feel considered and at ease.

  • You are ready to surrender the planning and simply arrive, trusting in a beautifully held space.

  • You prefer the calm of a rock pool or a quiet hillside over the noise of a crowd.

This isn’t a typical retreat or a race to tick boxes. It is for the woman who wants to be in one place long enough to truly feel it, moving through the landscape with a sense of quiet respect and curiosity.

If this resonates, it was designed for you.

This isn’t for everyone. This is for women who don’t want a packed itinerary or a typical retreat.

SIGNATURE MOMENTS

Colombo, considered
A private, design-led introduction to the city — boutiques, textiles, and a slower way in.

Galle, reimagined
A walk through the fort — shaped by local insight, history, and food.

Time by the water
Open hours along the coast — to swim, wander, or sit by the ocean.

The Safari: First Light at Udawalawe

We enter the wild of Udawalawe at first light, moving through the landscape just as it begins to wake. This is an unhurried, quiet encounter—watching elephants move through open land with a sense of space and respect. There is no rush; it is simply about being present in the vast, open plains as the morning sun transforms the landscape

Long, unhurried afternoons
Time that stretches — to explore, or do very little at all.

The Jungle Spa: A Sanctuary in the Hills

As the journey shifts inland, the air grows cooler and the landscape quiets. Nestled into the lush, green slopes of the high country, the jungle spa offers a rare space to fully switch off. It is an experience designed around stillness and the sounds of the forest, allowing you to trade the coastal rhythm for a deeper, more secluded sense of calm

Evenings together
Each night, we come back together for dinner at the villa or somewhere beautiful nearby.
Good food. Easy conversation. A rhythm that brings everyone back.

THE KIND OF PLACES WE STAY

As a designer, I select each stay for its sense of place, calm, and understated luxury — from an elegant residence in Colombo to a private coastal villa near Galle, and time in the hills surrounded by a lush, quiet landscape.

The focus is always on how a space feels — private, considered, and completely at ease. The coastal villa, in particular, is designed for slow mornings, long lunches, and evenings that stretch.
