1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Booking Conditions set out the terms on which you contract with Lido Atelier Pty Ltd for the Sri Lanka journey. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd designs and hosts small-group travel experiences in partnership with carefully selected local operators, accommodation providers and specialist suppliers. We work to curate thoughtful itineraries, quality accommodation and reliable on-ground arrangements for our guests. By making a booking or paying a deposit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Booking Conditions, including the payment, cancellation, supplier responsibility and travel insurance provisions set out below. These Booking Conditions apply together with your confirmed itinerary, invoice and booking confirmation. If there is any inconsistency between general marketing material and your booking confirmation, your booking confirmation will apply to the extent of that inconsistency.
2. Bookings
A booking is confirmed, and a contract between you and Lido Atelier Pty Ltd comes into effect, when:
• you have provided all information reasonably required to process your booking request;
• you have paid the amounts payable at the time of booking in accordance with these Booking Conditions; and
• Lido Atelier Pty Ltd has issued written confirmation of your booking.
We reserve the right to decline a booking at our discretion. If we decline your booking and you have made payments to us on account of that request, we will promptly refund the amounts received by us.
3. Our Services
Lido Atelier Pty Ltd designs, arranges and coordinates the Sri Lanka journey.
Our services are limited to:
• the arrangement and coordination of the journey, itinerary, accommodation, transport, meals, guides, activities and other inclusions; and
• the delivery of any services which Lido Atelier Pty Ltd directly controls, operates or owns.
Many parts of the journey are provided by independent third-party suppliers, including accommodation providers, transport providers, drivers, guides, activity providers, restaurants and local operators. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd does not own or control these suppliers. We commence providing services to you as soon as your booking is confirmed. This includes work undertaken prior to departure to arrange, coordinate and administer the delivery of the journey.
4. Prices and Exclusions
All prices are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless otherwise specified. Your invoice or booking confirmation will confirm the price payable for your place on the journey. Prices are current at the time of publication or issue. Where there are material changes outside the reasonable control of Lido Atelier Pty Ltd, including exchange rate fluctuations, supplier price increases, taxes, levies, government charges, transport costs or other costs of services, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd reserves the right to adjust the price of the journey before departure. We will notify you of any material price change as soon as reasonably practicable. Unless expressly stated in your confirmed itinerary or booking confirmation, the journey price does not include international or domestic flights, visas, passports, vaccinations, travel insurance, excess baggage, personal expenses, optional activities, additional accommodation, airport transfers, gratuities, medical expenses, emergency evacuation costs, or any other items of a personal nature. If Lido Atelier Pty Ltd incurs any cost on your behalf that is not included in the journey price, you agree to reimburse that cost on demand. Payments by debit or credit card may be subject to a surcharge equal to the costs we incur to process the payment.
5. Accommodation
Accommodation is provided as outlined in your confirmed itinerary and booking invoice. Room types are subject to availability at the time of booking. Where private rooms are offered, these are based on single occupancy unless otherwise stated. Twin-share rooms may be available in limited numbers and must be requested at the time of booking. Requests for specific bedding arrangements, such as separate twin beds or one double or king bed, must be made at the time of booking. While we will do our best to accommodate these requests, they cannot be guaranteed as room configurations vary between properties. Any request for an additional bed, room upgrade or alternative room type may incur an additional charge and will be subject to availability.
6. Extensions and Additional Arrangements Any pre-journey or post-journey accommodation, transfers, activities or other arrangements are not included unless expressly stated in your confirmed itinerary or booking confirmation. Where accommodation stays or other services are extended or arranged separately, additional costs, locally published rates and supplier terms may apply. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd may assist with suggestions, but any separate arrangements are your responsibility unless confirmed in writing by Lido Atelier Pty Ltd as part of your booking.
7. Payment Terms A deposit of $1,500 per person is required immediately upon booking to secure your place on the Sri Lanka journey. Your place is not confirmed or held until your deposit has been received and Lido Atelier Pty Ltd has issued written confirmation of your booking. The deposit is non-refundable, except where the journey does not proceed because minimum numbers are not reached, or where Lido Atelier Pty Ltd cancels the journey for reasons not caused by you. The final balance is due no later than 31 August 2026. For bookings made close to or after 31 August 2026, full payment may be required at the time of booking. If payments are not received by the due dates, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd reserves the right to cancel your booking and apply any applicable cancellation charges.
8. Minimum Numbers A minimum number of 5 guests is required for the Sri Lanka journey to proceed. If minimum numbers are not reached, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd may cancel the journey, offer a revised itinerary, offer an alternative arrangement, or give guests the option to proceed at a revised price where appropriate. If Lido Atelier Pty Ltd cancels the journey because minimum numbers are not reached, and you do not accept an alternative or revised arrangement, you will receive a refund of amounts paid to Lido Atelier Pty Ltd for the cancelled journey. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will notify guests within a reasonable time before the planned departure date if minimum numbers have not been reached.
9. Special Requirements, Mobility and Medical Conditions This itinerary may not be suitable for guests with significant mobility limitations, as some accommodation, transport, streets, paths and activities may involve stairs, uneven ground, limited handrails, wet surfaces, steep access, long drives, boarding and disembarking vehicles, or walking over natural terrain. Guests must advise us in writing at the time of booking of any mobility concerns, medical conditions, dietary requirements or other special requirements that may affect their ability to participate in the itinerary. While Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will do its best to pass on reasonable requests to accommodation providers and suppliers, special requests cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability and local conditions. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd may require medical clearance from a qualified medical practitioner where we reasonably consider this necessary for safe participation. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd reserves the right to determine, acting reasonably, whether a guest can safely participate in the itinerary. If we refuse or end your participation because you have failed to disclose relevant information, failed to provide requested medical clearance, or cannot safely participate, this may be treated as a cancellation by you and no refund will be payable except as required by law.
10. Changes by Us
Lido Atelier Pty Ltd may make reasonable changes to the Sri Lanka journey, including changes to the itinerary, accommodation, transport arrangements, meal venues, guides, activities, inclusions, timing or route, where reasonably required for safety, weather, road conditions, supplier availability, operational requirements, minimum numbers, local conditions or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. A change to the itinerary, accommodation, transport, activity or inclusion will not entitle you to a refund where the overall nature and value of the journey are not materially affected. If, before the journey commences, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd makes a change that materially alters the overall nature or value of the journey, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and advise you of the options available, which may include accepting the changed journey, receiving a credit, or receiving a refund of amounts recoverable after taking into account supplier terms and costs already incurred or committed on your behalf. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd is not responsible for any indirect or consequential loss, or for the cost of any separate arrangements made by you that are not included in the journey, including flights, visas, insurance, additional accommodation or onward travel.
11. Cancellations or Postponement by Us
Lido Atelier Pty Ltd may cancel or postpone the journey before it starts if, acting reasonably, we consider that the journey cannot proceed safely, lawfully or practically, including due to minimum numbers, supplier disruption, transport disruption, weather, safety concerns, government restrictions, civil unrest, a Force Majeure event or any other circumstance beyond our reasonable control. If Lido Atelier Pty Ltd cancels or postpones the journey before it starts, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and advise you of the options available. These may include accepting an alternative date or arrangement, receiving a credit, or receiving a refund of amounts recoverable after taking into account supplier terms and costs already incurred or committed on your behalf. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for the cost of any separate arrangements made by you that are not included in the journey.
12. Force Majeure Force
Majeure means an event beyond our reasonable control which prevents or materially hinders the safe, lawful or practical operation of the Sri Lanka journey. This may include, but is not limited to, severe weather, natural disaster, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic, government restriction, border closure, industrial disruption, transport disruption, road closure, supplier failure, war, civil unrest, terrorism, safety concerns or any other event beyond our reasonable control. Where a Force Majeure event affects the journey, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd may need to alter, postpone, cancel or substitute parts of the itinerary, accommodation, transport, activities or services. Where this occurs, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will use reasonable efforts to recover funds from suppliers or arrange suitable alternatives. However, any refund will depend on the amounts recoverable from suppliers and any costs already incurred or committed on your behalf. For clarity, illness, injury, a medical condition affecting you, change of mind, missed flights, flight delays, or the failure of transport not included in the journey are not Force Majeure events for the purposes of these Booking Conditions.
13. Cancellations by Guest
All cancellations by a guest must be made in writing to Lido Atelier Pty Ltd. The $1,500 deposit is non-refundable if you choose to cancel your booking, unless the journey does not proceed because minimum numbers are not reached or Lido Atelier Pty Ltd cancels the journey for reasons not caused by you. The following cancellation fees apply to the Sri Lanka journey: • Cancellation after booking and before final payment is due: loss of deposit, plus any supplier cancellation charges or unrecoverable costs already committed on your behalf. • Cancellation after final payment is due and more than 60 days before departure: 50% of the total journey cost, plus any supplier cancellation charges or unrecoverable costs to the extent they exceed that amount. • Cancellation between 60 days and 30 days before departure: 75% of the total journey cost. • Cancellation within 30 days of departure, after the journey has commenced, or no-show: 100% of the total journey cost. Supplier cancellation charges may be in addition to the cancellation fees above. These charges are determined by the relevant accommodation providers, transport providers, guides, activity providers and other suppliers. Supplier charges may be up to 100% of the amount paid or committed on your behalf. 14. Unused Services and Refunds No refund will be given for any unused accommodation, meals, transport, activities or services due to late arrival, early departure, illness, change of mind, missed connections, failure to attend, no-show, or any other reason outside the control of Lido Atelier Pty Ltd. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd does not authorise any overseas supplier, accommodation provider, guide, driver or local operator to promise refunds on its behalf. Any refund request must be made in writing to Lido Atelier Pty Ltd and will be assessed in accordance with these Booking Conditions and any applicable supplier terms. Any refunds payable by Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will be made using the original payment method where reasonably practicable. Any card processing surcharge originally paid may be non-refundable.
15. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of joining the Sri Lanka journey. Travel insurance is not included in the journey price and must be arranged by each guest at their own cost. Guests must purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking, or as soon as reasonably practicable after booking. The policy should include cover for cancellation, medical expenses, emergency assistance, travel disruption, lost or delayed luggage, missed connections and other unforeseen events. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd may request evidence of travel insurance before departure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd is not responsible for any loss, cost or expense that could have been covered by travel insurance.
16. Names as per Passport
It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that all names provided at the time of booking are exactly as they appear on their passport. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd is not responsible for any costs, delays, amendment fees, cancellation fees or issues arising from incorrect names, spelling errors or incomplete passport details provided by the guest. Any fees charged by airlines, transport providers, accommodation providers or other suppliers as a result of incorrect information will be payable by the guest. 17. Invoices and Documentation Confirmed bookings will be issued with an invoice or booking confirmation detailing the services booked, the journey price and relevant payment dates. It is your responsibility to review all invoice and booking confirmation details carefully and notify Lido Atelier Pty Ltd promptly of any errors or omissions. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd reserves the right to correct any errors in rates quoted or calculated for any service, even if an invoice has been issued or paid, subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Travel documentation and pre-departure information will normally be issued before departure once all required payments and guest information have been received.
18. During the Journey
Behaviour and Safety Guests must follow all reasonable directions given by Lido Atelier Pty Ltd, its host, guides, drivers and suppliers during the journey. If you act in a manner that threatens the safety, comfort or enjoyment of yourself, other guests, Lido Atelier personnel, suppliers or third parties, or if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other substance that may impair safe participation, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd or its representatives may, acting reasonably, refuse your participation or require you to leave the journey. If your participation is refused or ended for these reasons, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense you incur, and no refund will be payable except as required by law.
19. Medical Assistance
You acknowledge that there may be occasions where you require first aid, medical treatment or evacuation due to an accident, illness, injury or other health condition. If you are unable to make decisions for yourself, you consent to Lido Atelier Pty Ltd, its host, guides, drivers or suppliers seeking and securing medical treatment, emergency assistance or evacuation that they reasonably consider necessary. You agree to reimburse Lido Atelier Pty Ltd for any costs it reasonably incurs in seeking medical treatment, emergency assistance or evacuation on your behalf. Any first aid provided by Lido Atelier Pty Ltd, its host or suppliers is provided on the basis that they may not be qualified medical professionals. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will not be liable for any care given or omitted except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
20. Responsibility and Independent Suppliers Our responsibility
To the extent that Lido Atelier Pty Ltd is the principal supplier of services which it directly controls, operates or owns, those services will be provided with reasonable skill and care. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will only be responsible for its employees in the course of their employment, and for agents and contractors where Lido Atelier Pty Ltd has direct control over them and they are carrying out work Lido Atelier Pty Ltd asked them to do. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will not be responsible for any loss, damage, claim or expense caused by your acts or omissions, the acts or omissions of any third party not connected with the provision of the journey, or a Force Majeure event. Independent suppliers Some parts of the journey, including accommodation, transport, meals, guides, activities and other inclusions, may be provided by third-party suppliers not controlled by Lido Atelier Pty Ltd. Where this is the case, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd’s responsibility is limited to exercising reasonable care in selecting and arranging those services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd is not liable for any loss, delay, damage, death, injury, illness or expense arising from the acts or omissions of a third-party supplier, except to the extent caused by Lido Atelier Pty Ltd’s negligence or to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Australian Consumer Law Nothing in these Booking Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. Other than rights and guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Lido Atelier Pty Ltd disclaims all warranties and guarantees and limits its liability to arranging for the relevant services to be resupplied or payment of the price paid for those services.
21. Complaints
If a problem arises with any aspect of the journey, you must tell Lido Atelier Pty Ltd, the host or the relevant supplier as soon as possible so there is an opportunity to address the issue on the ground. If the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction during the journey, you must follow this up in writing within 30 days from the end of the journey. Notification of a complaint does not guarantee any particular outcome. If you fail to follow this procedure, this may limit our ability to investigate the issue or pursue a claim with suppliers on your behalf.
22. Privacy and Image Release
Any personal information you provide to Lido Atelier Pty Ltd will be collected, stored, used and shared as reasonably necessary to administer your booking, deliver the journey, communicate with you, manage safety and supplier requirements, and comply with legal obligations. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd and its suppliers may take photographs or recordings during the journey. These images or recordings may be used for promotional, marketing and business purposes. If you do not consent to the use of your image or likeness, you must advise Lido Atelier Pty Ltd in writing before the journey commences.
23. General
These Booking Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be dealt with by a court with appropriate jurisdiction. If any provision of these Booking Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed to the extent necessary without affecting the remaining provisions. If these Booking Conditions are published with or linked from marketing material, you acknowledge that information may change, including prices, inclusions, accommodation and itinerary details. Your confirmed itinerary, invoice and booking confirmation will set out the arrangements that apply to your booking. Lido Atelier Pty Ltd may update these Booking Conditions from time to time. The Booking Conditions that apply to your booking are those in effect at the time your booking is confirmed, unless changes are required by law or agreed in writing.
